Each city event kicked off at the same time. In Chicago, ticketed event for 1800 people, 300 VIPs. The ticketed guests were directed to the website with teaser spots on local radio and tweets and other social media hints from the "surprise" performers - Maroon 5 and Sara Bareilles (2012).
